Polaris

The lighting design concept was developed as part of a pre-qualified architectural competition proposal for a new office building. The lighting was envisioned to be integrated delicately as part of the architecture, invisible during the daylight hours. The dynamic visual narrative takes departure from keywords such as starry sky, the Northern star and aurora as the polar lights; and reflected in the building’s name Polaris. The lighting spectacle is to be carefully programmed, balancing between the darkness and brightness, with minimal light pollution; aligned with dusk, dawn and active usage of waterfront. All in all, to create a light experience for the passers-by as part of the urban realm and as a new landmark seen form the waterfront.

The lighting design concept was developed in collaboration with Atelier Lorentzen Langkilde.
